Rob Gazidis joined us in June having spent 3 years working as a carpenter in Australia, the majority of that time in Sydney. He made a great first impression with his Labour Manager Tony and once placed in work received brilliant feedback from a number clients; for this reason Tony was keen not to lose Rob.
Rob’s Carpentry Background
Originally from Birmingham in the UK, Rob trained as a furniture designer. In 2003 he obtained a National Diploma in 3D Design, then a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Furniture design in 2007. Rob also has his Cert 3 in Carpentry and a genuine passion for both making furniture and all aspects of carpentry.
For the past few months Rob has been lucky enough to work right beside the harbour bridge, on a heritage listed house undergoing a full renovation. After discussing his carpentry style and preferred type of work, Tony was able to place him on a job that he knew he would love.
“I really enjoy the variety of work that comes with this kind of project – I’m not just hanging door after door! Because I have been there since early on in the project I get to enjoy the full scope of the works – from having to carefully dismantle and protect a fireplace, through to fitting the architraves, skirting, decking and doors in the final fit out” – Rob
Learning on the job
While none of the techniques Rob has to use on this project have been new, having to work within the confinements of heritage guidelines resulted in him having to think outside of the box a lot of the time. So not only is Rob kept in continuous work, he is also expanding his knowledge and skill set on a project that he finds both challenging and exciting.
Sponsorship for carpenters
In August Rob was offered sponsorship which he was quick to accept. His application was dealt with by our in house migration agent who has extensive years of experience and is able to offer up to date, honest advice and most importantly a very high success rate.
Our in house migration agent can provide the following services to candidates to ensure you are looked after along every step of the sponsorship journey:
- Full assessment of your eligibility
- Advice and guidance in regards to most suitable visa type
- Full assistance in handling all aspects of Visa application
It’s because of the massive skills shortage in Australia that Rob is one of many great candidates that BriX Projects has been able to sponsor over the last 12 months. We aren’t interested in just sponsoring carpenters either, we can offer sponsorship to a wide variety of skilled roles here in Sydney as there is such a high demand as well as the occupations being part of the skilled migration list.
If you are a carpenter or an electrician looking for sponsorship or you would be interested in talking to us about your current situation we are always just a phone call away. Or if you would like to speak to us about the type of carpentry work we have available and the current carpenter jobs we are recruiting for then please contact us now or call 1800 621 066.
