Our Top Winter Labour Hire Jobs

We know it can be hard to brave those frosty mornings but trust us when we say it’s worth it. Blue collar work never really slows down, and winter is a great time to secure a position as some trades see a sharp increase in demand. We have many exciting job roles on offer, including:

Electricians

Concerns about the rising cost of electricity continue to circulate amongst families and business owners. During winter, electricity bills can rise dramatically due to more time spent indoors using technology, heaters, air conditioners etc. In turn we are witnessing increased demand for licensed electricians, particularly those skilled in solar installations. Even if you don’t have solar experience, there’s still loads of work to go around in other areas and on some of the nation’s biggest projects – so get in touch today.

Skilled Labourers

Brix Projects are always on the lookout for skilled labourers, and we have plenty of work to go around. If you have experience as a skilled or general labourer, we want to hear from you. Get in touch today and our recruiters will match you up with suitable projects.

Construction Site Success – Top Winter Tips

Working on construction is immensely rewarding, as you will be contributing towards shaping the future of Australia whilst also gaining new industry connections and valuable connections. By following a few of our tips, working on site during winter doesn’t have to be miserable. Here are our top tips for staying warm:

  • Heavy Duty Workwear – you may wish to invest in some long trousers and fleece tops. It’s a good idea to layer up, as this will get you through the chilly mornings whilst allowing you to peel off as the day wears on.
  • Gloves – Not only is a good pair of work gloves handy for protection, it will also help you to retain body heat. This is particularly helpful if you will be working with steel or heavy machinery, as these metal surfaces can be very cold to the touch and may cause frostbite.
  • Heated Work Vests/Jackets – this item of workwear is quickly gaining popularity amongst construction workers. Manufacturers such as Bosch, Milwaukee, Makita, Total Tools and more manufacture a range of vests and jackets for men and women with inbuilt heating. It will make working on-site even more comfortable, and some even feature a battery pack with inbuilt USB charging for your phone.
